“beginners can’t go wrong with this guitar … it won’t break the bank and will impress and surprise tonally” Sam Wise, Acoustic Magazine Dec 2011.
The V880N’ sound has some bluesy mid-range accent, punchy, responsive overall tones which adds characters in its overall vibes and it’s vintage 1940s root style. The satin thin finish allows the guitar to breath and seasoned over the time for maximum vibration & resonance.
Review Comments :
Sounds & playability as according to Acoustic Magazine (Dec 2011) : “ the parlor guitar is intended for more intimate instrument, physically any adult will find it easy to hug their elbow on this guitar, makes this guitar attractive for mobile usage. The neck has comfortable slim & C shape neck and the 14th fret body joint means better access to higher fret for your finger-style works. The small parlor body typically have common boxy sound challenge due to it’s smaller inner chamber, however the Vintage team smartly chose solid cedar top which is well known for its warmer, produces richer harmonics and overtones. The V880N can produce gentle, rich in harmonics, eventhough it doesn’t meant for powerful strumming, however when played gently it has the seductive & delicate tones of it’s fingestyle sound. You may attach on it sooner or later.
Quoted from Acoustic Magazine Review (Dec 2011) : “ hand-some looking instrument with sparkling tones at bargain price…., this will give a much more expensive instruments, a fright “… by Sam Wise
The verdict (build quality : 4 stars, sound quality : 4 stars, value for money : 5 stars) = 4.5 stars overall
